Obituary of Bob Rettinger

Robert Emil Rettinger, 68, passed away on January 19, 2023, at his home in Lower Pottsgrove Twp., PA. He was the husband of the late Christine Diane (Dupler) Rettinger, who passed away in 2010.

Born in Highland Park, MI, on July 23, 1954, Bob was the son of the late Emil John Rettinger and Alice Emilia (Rotermund) Rettinger.

Bob graduated in 1979 with his B.S. in Business Management from La Roche University in Pittsburgh, PA. He then started his career in banking working as a team leader for Commonwealth Bank & Trust. After five years, he moved to Hudson United Bank where he served as the vice president and regional manager. After his time at Hudson, Bob began working for First Niagara Bank, now KeyBank, where he spent most of his career as vice president and branch manager. Bob retired from KeyBank on October 26, 2022, and two months later became the executive director of The Salvation Army of Pottstown.

Outside of his career, Bob spent many years volunteering and holding various roles with organizations in the Pottstown community, including Rotary Club of Pottstown, Pottstown Elks Lodge #814, Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities, Community Health and Dental Care of Pottstown, and Pottstown Beacon of Hope. The Pottstown Rotary has a motto, "Service Above Self,” and Bob emulated this perfectly in his day-to-day life. He consistently blessed others in the communities he served, and he will be deeply missed.
