Obituary of Linda Griffiths

Linda (Zedlar) Griffiths, 79, of Johnstown, PA, formerly of Pottstown, PA, passed away from this world on July 25, 2022. Born in Johnstown, PA, on March 8, 1943, Linda was the daughter of the late Charles and Julia (Belko) Zedlar.

Linda graduated from Johnstown High School in 1961, and continued her education at Cambria-Rowe Business College where she received her associate’s degree in 1963. Upon graduating, she worked for Hiram Swank’s Sons, Crown American Associates, and Quaker Sales Corporation. After marrying her first husband, Gordon Griffiths, Linda moved to the Pottstown area and worked for Boise Cascade Developers, Hollingsworth Solderless Terminal Co., and Jay Smith Chiropractor. She finished her career working as a secretary and surgical coordinator for 25 years for Pennsylvania Ophthalmic Associates, formerly known as Sanatoga Ophthalmology. Linda was well-revered and cherished by all of her co-workers and patients because of her friendly and caring demeanor.

Outside of her working career, Linda cared for her aging mother at her home in Pottstown, and was very supportive of her husband, Bruce, and his career and love of history and nature. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed taking shopping trips with her mother-in-law around the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, traveling with her husband, and on a quiet day, curling up with a book surrounded by her several cats who brought her so much joy.

Linda made many friends over the years because of her kind and affectionate personality. She was a devoted wife and best friend to her husband of 42 years, Bruce, and she will be deeply missed.

Linda is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bruce D. Griffiths Sr.; her brother-in-law, George Berish; her nephew, Ross (& Annette) Berish; her grandniece, Olivia Berish; her longtime best friend, Karen Mercer; her stepsons, Bruce (& Jenny) Griffiths Jr. and Jamie Griffiths; and her nine step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren.
