Sandra Clemens

Obituary of Sandra Joan Clemens

Sandra Joan (Forker) Clemens, 87, passed away on May 11, 2022, at her home in Lower Pottsgrove Twp., PA. She was the wife of the late George A. Clemens, who passed away in September, 2020.

Born in Abington Twp., PA, on February 4, 1935, Sandra was the daughter of the late George Harold Forker Sr. and Virginia Rose (Taylor) Forker.

Sandra graduated from Collegeville-Trappe High School and was the valedictorian of her class. On September 4, 1953, she married a handsome young man named George Clemens and began a love story that would span 67 years. Eight children followed and she spent many active years caring for her home and family. In 1987 she began working at one of her favorite stores, F. W. Woolworth in the North End. She enjoyed many friendships and comical stories from her time at “Woolie Wonderland”. She served her community there until the Woolworth era came to an end and the store closed its doors.

Sandra was a long-time member at Trinity EC Church in Boyertown. She enjoyed participating in and leading many women’s Bible study groups and was the absolute epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman. “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

Sandra is lovingly remembered by her children, Virginia Spielman, wife of Robert, Michael Clemens, husband of Patricia, Victoria Schwenk, wife of Ernest, Valerie Overend, wife of Michael, Steven Clemens, husband of Catherine, Andrew Clemens, husband of Victoria, and Vanessa Clemens; grandchildren: Robert Spielman, Jr., husband of Nicole, Sarah Donaghy, wife of Fred, Michael Clemens, Jr., husband of Leona, Jessica Davis, wife of Steve, Paul Clemens, husband of Marlee, Christopher and Adam Schwenk, Nathan Smith, Janet Lyons, wife of Conley, Joshua and Christopher Overend, Emily and Ashley Clemens, Deaglan Mallacht-Clemens, Tyler McMahon, and Isabella Clemens; great-grandchildren: Shane and Wyatt Spielman, Michael III and James Clemens, Logan and Nolan Davis, Gracelee, Kashton and Briggs Clemens, and Madelyn Lyons. She is also survived by her youngest sister, Paula Valerio.

Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her son George A. Clemens, Jr., her brother George H. Forker Jr.; and her sister Betty J. Tantum.

Sandra will forever be known as a Godly woman, and the very best mom, mother-in-law, “Mammy”, and friend in the world. She had the most wonderful, infectious laugh that could many times be heard even before she was seen! She will be missed beyond words, but her family rejoices in knowing that she has been reunited with her soulmate and eldest son. They praise God for the assurance of eternal salvation and look forward to a glorious family reunion in Heaven someday.
