Obituary of Shirley Evelyn Mae Kehler
Shirley Evelyn Mae (Baylor) Kehler, 84, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on February 5, 2022, at Pottstown Hospital. She was the wife of the late Marlin Moses Kehler, who passed away in 2002.
Born in Pine Grove, PA, on April 3, 1937, Shirley was the daughter of the late William Baylor and Eva (Schomper) Baylor Keim.
Shirley worked for over 25 years at Boyertown Packaging and retired in 2000. In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed gardening, cooking, testing her luck with the slot machines at the casino, and her personal favorite, playing bingo. While all of these hobbies were important to Shirley, her most important and cherished role was being Nanny for her entire family, and most especially for her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley is lovingly remembered by her children, Elaine (& David) Richards, Marlene (& Donald) Ziemba, Janice Kehler, and Michael (& Kelly) Kehler; her son-in-law, James McNamara; her grandchildren, Zachary, Tanesha, Thomas (& Tara), Jason (& Vy), Kristy, Deena, Ashley, Alexis, Mason, Mackenzie, and Jessica (& Nicholas); her great-grandchildren, Avallina, Torria, Ashlynd, Thomas, Tyler, Kayla, Hailey, Liam, Flynn, Logan, Grayson, Lucas, Raylan, and Blake; her brother, George Cressman; and her sister, Betty Walters.
In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley is predeceased by her infant daughter, Anna Mae Kehler; her daughter, Evelyn McNamara; her grandson, Richard Hauk III; her brother, Paul Baylor; and her sister, Anna Mae Long.
A viewing will take place on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m. The family respectfully requests that all guests wear a mask during the viewing and service.
