Obituary of Andrew Battaglino

Andrew Battaglino, 73, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2021, after a courageous battle with an autoimmune disease. Andrew was the loving husband of Deborah (Speck) Battaglino, with whom he shared 10 years of marriage.

 

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 3, 1948, Andrew was the son of Raphaela (Iacono) Battaglino and the late Charles Battaglino.

 

Andrew graduated in 1965 from John F. Kennedy High School in Willingboro, NJ, and then obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business in 1969 from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. While in high school, Andrew ran on the track team and won a bronze medal for the 600-yard dash and held the record for the 440-yard dash for many years. After graduating from LIU, Andrew began his over 30-year career as a revenue accountant for Unisys in Blue Bell, PA. After his time at Unisys, Andrew worked for Whole Foods Market in Devon, PA. In his spare time, Andrew enjoyed listening to music, watching classic movies, playing golf, and writing poetry. Most of all, Andrew treasured the times he spent with his family, most especially his grandsons.

 

In addition to his wife and mother, Andrew is lovingly remembered by his daughters, April Battaglino and Lynne (& Shaun Cooper) Battaglino; his grandsons, Tristan Cooper, Xavier Battaglino, and Lucas Cooper; his sister, Paula Battaglino; and many cousins.

 

In addition to his father, Andrew is predeceased by his first wife, Carolyn (Jaworski) Battaglino; his sister, Josephine Swiderski; and his nephews, Scott Swiderski and Charles Swiderski.

 

A viewing will take place on Monday, December 20, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
