Obituary of Amy Lynn Murphy
Amy Lynn (Pancher) Murphy, 44, of Douglassville, PA, passed away on December 3, 2021, at Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Adam Stephen Murphy, with whom she shared 14 years of marriage.
Born in Shamokin, PA, on November 30, 1977, Amy was the daughter of Joseph Pancher and the late Carol (Arnold) Pancher.
Amy graduated in 1996 from Shamokin Area High School, where she was a runner for the track team. She then attended Bloomsburg University and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology. While attending Bloomsburg University, Amy was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha (ΑΣΑ) sorority. She furthered her education by attending West Chester University, and graduated in 2004 with her Master’s Degree in Special Education. Amy then became the Director of Special Education for the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School in West Chester, PA, until 2012, when she decided to become a stay-at-home mom. Although Amy’s education and career were very important to her, her number one goal in life was being a devoted mom to her precious daughters. She spent countless hours volunteering for her daughters’ school and Cedarville United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Amy enjoyed “hiding away” at her Nan’s house, reading, listening to country music, taking care of animals, and visiting Sea Isle City, NJ. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from creating countless memories with her entire family, and especially her husband and daughters.
Amy is predeceased by her mother, Carol; her infant sister, Wendy; her mother-in-law, Donna Queen; and her brother-in-law, Mike Queen.
Amy is survived by her father, her husband, her daughters, Emily Carol Murphy and Mia Victoria Murphy; her siblings, Joe (& Cathy) Pancher, Randy (& Tammy) Pancher, Sherri (& Kevin) Bonshock, Brian (& Amy) Pancher, Jeffrey (& Maria) Pancher, and Jason Pancher; her sister-in-law, Alison (& Alex Wehrung) Queen; her brothers-in-law, Ryan (& Ginny) Murphy and Justin (& Bridgett) Murphy; her fathers-in-law, Mark Murphy and Michael Queen; and many nieces and nephews who will miss Amy deeply.
