Obituary of Joseph Amole
Joseph H. Amole, of Stowe, Died at his home on Tuesday, March 19, He was 91.
Born in Douglassville, he was the husband of Marie (Long) Amole for over 65 years.
Son of the late John and Lottie (Levengood) Amole.
Joe worked as a Millwright at the former Bethlehem Steel Plant for over 33 years. He then held mechanic positions with Firestone tire and Stanley Flagg. Joe enjoyed making repairs at home, was a serious tool collector. He also enjoyed the Phillies and Eagles, and especially the company of his grandchildren.
Joe was very proud of his service in the US Army during WWII. Mainly stationed in the European Theatre and Africa. He was on Omaha Beach, on D-Day, and liked to share his experience and eyewitness accounts with others.
Survivors in addition to his wife Marie, include his daughter; Constance E. Wagner of Stowe, Brothers: Paul Amole of Elverson, and Leonard Amole of Douglassville, Sister; Dorothy Miller of Birdsboro. Also survived by two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service 11:00AM on Monday, March 25, at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA. Rev. Barry Moyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Friends may call from 10 to 11AM at the funeral home.
