Obituary of Shirley A. Finkbeiner

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”


Shirley Ann (Kulp) Finkbeiner, 82, of Souderton, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 22, 2021. Born in Lansdale, PA, on May 21, 1939, Shirley was the daughter of the late Laverne and Grace (Snyder) Kulp.


Shirley graduated from North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA, in 1957, and worked for many years as a companion to the elderly in local nursing homes. She was an active and faithful member of Valley View Bible Church in Telford, PA, and a volunteer for Care & Share Thrift Shoppes in Souderton, PA. In her spare time, Shirley loved to negotiate great deals at yard sales and host events for her large family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be deeply missed. 


Shirley is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Robin (& Don) Bechtel, Quakertown, PA; her son, Scott (& Susan) Murray, Chiang Mai, Thailand; her stepchildren, Scott (& Lynda) Finkbeiner, Souderton, PA, Tedd Finkbeiner, Hatfield, PA, Doug (& Sheri) Finkbeiner, Leola, PA, David (& Kathy) Finkbeiner, Kenosha, WI, Tim (& Melody) Finkbeiner, Emmaus, PA, Sherri Finkbeiner, Tampa, FL, and Jodi Finkbeiner, Lancaster, PA; her sister, Joan Beidler; and her 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.


In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her first husband, Robert W. Murray, who passed in 1987; her second husband, Albert H. Finkbeiner, who passed in 2015; and her stepdaughter, Robin Eisenschied.


Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Bible Church, 315 Barndt Road, Telford, PA 18969. A Life Celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley’s memory to Valley View Bible Church (address listed above).
