Obituary of James I. Kiper
James I. Kiper, 65, of Stowe, PA, passed away on October 15, 2021, at Pottstown Hospital. He was the husband of Debra Ann (Fox) Kiper, with whom he shared 15 years of marriage.
Born in Grand Rapids, MI, on June 17, 1956, James was the son of Harriet Jean (Koetje) Kiper and the late Roland DeForest Kiper.
Jim graduated from Newaygo High School in Michigan in 1973, and shortly thereafter joined the United States Navy where he honorably served for over 10 years. Jim worked for FedEx and Innovative Machining Technology in Boyertown, PA. Jim loved spending time outdoors, as shown by his service as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 363 in his earlier years. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, and cheering on the Detroit Lions. Jim was an innovative thinker and could always be found tinkering and building things in his garage. Most importantly, Jim was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. There was no task that was “too much” or “too big” for Jim when it came to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife and mother, Jim is lovingly remembered by his children, Justin Kiper and Josephine Kiper; his stepchildren, Natalie Ruchinski and Phillip Rupert; his grandchildren, Kayla Ruchinski, Caleb Ruchinski, Jacob Ruchinski, Michael Ruchinski, Nathan Knabb, Faith Rupert, Lydia Rupert, Layla Rupert, Cole Lehman, Lexi Rupert, and Jackson Rupert; his siblings, Deb Klomp, Kenneth (& Tracy) Kiper, and Cathy (& Paul) Maynard; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Jim is predeceased by his son, Julian Kiper; his stepson, Richard Rupert; and his brother, Mike Kiper.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 2:00 p.m. Military honors will take place outside after the service.
