Obituary of Gertrude Jeanty

Gertrude Jeanty A.K.A. Natasha and Yeto, 56, of Reading, PA, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2021, at Reading Hospital. Born in Haiti on March 27, 1965, Gertrude was the daughter of Idanie St Eugene and the late Raymond Jeanty. She obtained her high school diploma in Haiti and attended Upsala University in New Jersey, where she received her bachelor's degree majoring in computer science.

In addition to her mother, Natasha is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ron Comas; her daughter, Thaina Comas; her grandson, Tivon Comas-Clemens; her granddaughter, Isabelle Faith Juste; her siblings, Phenix Jeanty, Soledad Jeanty, Pierre Andre Delva, Elmira Pierre, Junior Renold Chery, Wilber Jeanty, and Rebecca Jeanty; her nieces and nephews; along with many other friends and family who will miss her deeply.

Natasha was a hard-working, devoted mother who provided for her family and anyone in need. She was full of ambition. One of her greatest desires was to own a restaurant. Natasha took pride in her culture, as expressed through her love of family, cooking, and music. She was a woman of many talents, most notably her ability to create magic in the kitchen. Aware of her gift, she reveled in the smiles that stemmed from her meals. Her sweet plantains tasted like a gift from the gods. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her loved ones, talking to her best friend, driving, traveling, shopping, and reading. She was also a problem-solver who often helped people in various ways. Natasha was a spiritual woman who never slept without her Bible. She had the gift of gab, was personable, and knew how to sell water to a whale. Natasha was a fashionista who will be missed deeply by her friends, family, and all who knew her.   

Viewings will take place on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
