Obituary of Joseph Haviland
Joseph Haviland, 72, of Schwenksville, PA, passed away on July 7, 2021, at Pottstown Hospital – Tower Health. He was the husband of Kathleen (Miller) Haviland, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Affectionately known as Joe, Dad, and Gramps - he was born in Philadelphia, PA, on March 6, 1949, the son of the late George and Florence (Melcher) Haviland.
Joe graduated from Dobbins Technical High School in Philadelphia, PA, in 1967, and then served honorably in the United States Air Force. After ending his time in the military, Joe began working for Bally Case and Cooler. He worked for various companies over the years, but most recently worked for Brown Printing Company, prior to retiring. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed mowing the lawn and watching all types of movies - he enjoyed gory films the most. Although his work and hobbies brought him joy, Joe’s greatest memories in life came from spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, he is lovingly remembered by his children, Heath Haviland, Limerick, PA, Amy (& Matthew) Allen, West Grove, PA, and Kaitlin (& Corey) Boudman, Gilbertsville, PA; his grandchildren, Macklin, Laurel, and Everett; and his siblings, George (& Rosalyn) Haviland, Suzanne (& Josef) Tracy, James Haviland, Dan (& Donna) Haviland, and Thomas Haviland.
In addition to his parents, Joe is predeceased by his grandsons, Andrew Haviland and Grant Boudman.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m.
