Obituary of Alvin F. Lightcap

Alvin F. Lightcap, 88, of Birdsboro, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Edith M. (Kessler) Lightcap, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

Born in East Nantmeal Twp., PA, on May 11, 1932, Alvin was the son of the late Walter B. Lightcap and Florence E. (Hampton) Lightcap; stepson of the late Ethel M. Lightcap; and brother of eight siblings.

Alvin grew up in South Pottstown, PA, and worked as a foundry worker for most of his life until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Alvin is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Brenda Minnick, Karen (& Brad) Willauer, and Wendy Langwig; seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and his precious dog, Norma-Jean.

In addition to his parents, stepmother, and siblings, Alvin is predeceased by his great-granddaughter.

A graveside service will take place on February 15, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Brownback’s U.C.C. Cemetery, 640 Ridge Rd., Spring City, PA 19475.
