Beverly Price

Obituary of Beverly J. Price

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Beverly Joan Price (Lytle) of Pottstown, born February 1948, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 due to complications from ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). She was the daughter of Eloise and William Lytle who preceded her in death.

Beverly is survived by her husband Robert Price of 53 years, who was her high school sweetheart, and her two daughters, Angela Harrison and her husband Jeffrey Harrison, Susan Maggetti and her husband Tom Maggetti. She is also survived by her brother Steve Lytle and sister-in law Bonnie Lytle, her three grandsons, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-dogs & cats, as well as other extended family members.

Bev was known best as the “Apple Basket lady” having fulfilled a dream of hers by going into business with her husband for over 15 years with their Apple Basket Gift stores. She loved greeting and meeting new people and helping those around her. Whether it was to find the perfect gift for someone or offering a hug to those who needed it most when more recently working at the Hallmark store and The Sanatoga Center, she loved to make others smile and offer comfort when needed. She was also the most devoted grandmother, referred to as “Gee or Grammy” by her three grandsons. She was always willing to bake cookies, go and watch their sport’s games, or just snuggle on the couch. Her willingness to step in and help out her family when needed will surely be missed.

Bev was also active in her community as she was a participant in the first Pottstown Relay For Life as a two time breast cancer survivor herself. She was a member of the Apple Basket team for many years, and then joined the Bosom Buddies team. After over 20 years of Relay and being a part of the local Pottstown breast cancer support group, she always looked forward to bringing awareness to the many types of cancer that affects one too many families in the hopes to one day find a cure.

Bev’s favorite quote was, “Just one more thing…”. This time, it is just one more thing until we all meet again. May you find peace and comfort, and watch over us all until we are together again. We all love you so much.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Houck & Gofus Funeral Home. The family will hold a Celebration of Life with extended family and friends at a later date.
