Doreen Frain

Obituary of Doreen Theresa Frain

Doreen Theresa (Lloyd) Frain, 72, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on August 20, 2020, at Pennsburg Manor. She was the wife of the late David R. Frain, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in Pottstown, PA, on September 9, 1947, Doreen was the daughter of the late Asa and Filomena “Fannie” (DeAngelo) Lloyd.

Doreen, lovingly known as Dor, was admired for her devotion to her family and friends, her sense of humor, her kind and gentle nature, and her natural beauty. She was artistic, precise, and an amazing cook. It was not uncommon for all conversation at the dinner table to stop and be replaced with an audible sigh when she presented that night's meal.

Dor was a loving and fun mom. She and David created a home where all their kids' friends felt welcome and accepted. She was a dance mom, a taxi driver, a late-night conversationalist and the one you could count on when you needed anything, no matter what.

There was no better grand-mom than Nana Dor. She was present at the birth of all three of her grandkids and found immense joy in watching and helping them grow, no matter what distance separated them or how much her illness kept her from being the Nana she once was.

She remained close with her childhood girlfriends throughout her life and they had many adventures together over the years. Their support and presence was never-ending and comforted her during her last months.

In another lifetime, she would have been a nurse, a chiropractor or a surgeon and did not hesitate to practice her amateur skills on her kids, grandkids, relatives, and friends.

Above all, Doreen was a person who devoted her life to her faith and the service of others. Whether it was family, friends, church members, or even a stranger who needed help, Dor was always there. We were all made better by having her in our lives and her loss will always be felt.

She is remembered by her son, David Frain; her daughter, Treena Frain, wife of Jeff Wicker; her brother, Randy Lloyd, companion of Carlena Robison; her grandchildren, Miles Frain, Jasper Lusson, and Emily Wicker; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Lorraine Frain, John and Mary Ann Eanes, and Ursula Frain.

In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her brother-in-law, Harry Frain.
