Obituary of Betty L. Gonder

Betty L. (Eschbach) Gonder, 86, passed away with her loving family by her side on March 12, 2020, at her home in North Coventry Twp., PA. She was the wife of the late Ralph L. Gonder with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Pottstown, PA, on May 20, 1933, Betty was the daughter of the late Warren and Esther (Bartman) Eschbach. Betty liked spending her time attending Bible studies, volunteering for Pottstown Area PAL football, gardening, and playing with her grand fur-babies. All of these activities meant a lot to Betty, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family who she loved dearly. She is survived by her children, Melanie L. Kegel, Douglassville, PA, Gayle L. Trout, wife of Randy, Birdsboro, PA, Lisa J. Mest, wife of Mark, Pottstown, PA, and Daryl S. Gonder, husband of Suzanne, Phoenixville, PA; her brother, Robert Eschbach, Royersford, PA; her grandchildren, Beth, Kerry, David, Kelly, Barry, Kyle, and Aaron; and her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Bailey, Riley, Mason, Liam, Sierra, Conner, Mikayla, Mylee, Tyler, Andrew, Donovan, Lizzy, Judah, Jordan, and Madison. She is predeceased by her siblings, James Eschbach, Harold “Butch” Eschbach, and Barbara Gebhardt. Viewings will take place on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464 and on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 1101 E High St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church. Interment will take place after the service at Highland Memorial Park.
