Obituary of Edward B. Clark

Edward B. Clark, 72, passed away on January 30, 2020, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Lower Pottsgrove Twp., PA. He was the husband of Lois J. (Warner) Clark with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on April 27, 1947, Edward was the son of the late Francis L. Clark and Ellen F. (Grover) Clark. Ed joined the United States Army in 1966 and served during the Vietnam War. He was proud of his service and joined American Legion Post 244 Pottstown, PA, where he served as Past Commander. He was also a member of Pottstown Joint Veterans Council. Each year Ed and his grandson, Ian, honored other veterans by placing flags on their graves each Memorial Day. His dedication to the United States led him to be named Veteran of the Year in 2008. Ed retired from Graterford Prison and was a professional Santa for over 49 years bringing countless children joy for all of those years. Although he enjoyed dressing up as Santa and serving as a veteran, his greatest pleasure came from being “Poppy” to everyone in his family. He will be greatly missed! In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer A. Clark, Pottstown, PA; his son, Carl E. Clark, fiancée of Sonia Dussinger, Douglassville, PA; his grandson, Ian Flynn; his brothers, James Clark, husband of Marylee, Glenside, PA, and John Clark, husband of Maryellen, Woodlyn, PA; his brothers-in-law, Arthur Warner, Pottstown, PA, and William Warner, husband of Jean, Delaware County; his niece, Traci Warner-Magazino; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Francis and Joseph Clark.
