Obituary of Ethel "Candy" M. Pugliese

Ethel M. (Miller) Pugliese, 66, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in Pottstown, PA, on January 8, 1953, Ethel was the daughter of the late Walter and Marian (Decker) Miller.

Known to all her friends as Candy, her passion was house painting, which she began perfecting in her late teens and went on to make her career. Working well into her fifties, in a predominately male industry, she took great pride in her talent and always held her own when it came to the heavy labor and hard work the job required.

She could often be found at a local diner, keeping up on the gossip and getting to know anyone else having a cup of coffee at the counter.

An avid pool shooter, Candy shot on organized teams at local social clubs, most notably the former Pottstown Orioles and Maria Assunta Lodge. She also had a life-long love of country music that led her to Nashville, Tennessee for music festivals, most notably meeting Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty.

The one thing that exceeded her love of all other things was the love she had for her family.  She would drop everything in order to babysit a grandchild or help her kids when they called on her.

She is survived by her children, Gary Roen, husband of Nancy, Phoenixville, PA; Darlene Bainbridge, wife of Todd, Pottstown, PA; Frank Noecker, husband of Colleen, Harrisburg, PA; Amy Noecker, Harrisburg, PA; and Tina Jimperson, wife of Clay, Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Titus, Hailey, Paige, Grace, Brielle, Antonette, Samuel, Vivienne, Olivia, Mason, and Braxton; great-grandchildren, Jay’ceon and Isaiah; and her brothers, Edwin Miller and Charles Schoch, both of Pottstown, PA.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
