Myron “Mike” Greenberg, 92, peacefully passed away on September 5, 2022, at his home in Phoenixville, PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 12, 1929, Mike was the son of the late Solomon and Dora (Bakalanick) Greenberg.
Mike graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia in 1947, and then obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University in 1951. He furthered his education by taking night classes at Temple and ultimately received his Master in Business Administration degree in 1953. After graduating, Mike joined the United States Army and honorably served from 1953-1955. After his time in the military, he began his career as a CPA working for RCA in New Jersey for over 20 years. He then moved back to Pennsylvania and worked as a controller for Diamond Glass Co. in Royersford until his retirement in 1986. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed listening to music, cheering on Philadelphia sports teams, enjoying a delicious meal, and spending time with and caring for animals.
Although Mike had many achievements throughout his life in both his schooling and career, he rarely talked about them. He was a humble man who consistently put the needs of others before his own. Most notably was when he took on the role as caretaker for both of his late wives. He accepted their diagnoses and sicknesses with grace, and moved forward to be strong for them. His gentle soul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. One quote that Mike enjoyed repeating was “The busiest people have the most time.”
Mike is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Susan Smith, York, PA, and Barbara (& Thomas Bowen) Walters, Phoenixville, PA; his grandchildren, Brandon (& Brittany) Smith, York, PA, and Rachel Walters, Perkiomenville, PA; his great-grandchildren, Destiny Smith, Lilly Smith, and Blake Smith, York, PA; and his nephews, Paul Greenberg, Richard Greenberg, and Louis Rosner.
In addition to his parents, Mike is predeceased by his first wife, Rosalyn (Mendelsohn) Greenberg; his second wife, Barbara (Pounders) Greenberg; his brother, Benjamin Greenberg; and his sister, Irma Rosner.
