Elmer Thomas Heimbach Jr., 86, of Douglassville, PA, formerly of Gilbertsville, PA, passed away on June 15, 2022, at Pottstown Hospital. He was the husband of the late Sandra Adele (Yerger) Heimbach, who passed away in 2020.
Born in Pottstown, PA, on October 26, 1935, Tom was the son of the late Elmer Thomas Heimbach Sr. and Miriam Larue (Swede) Heimbach.
Tom graduated from Pottstown High School in 1953, where he played baritone in the band. He worked as a draftsman for Bethlehem Steel for 23 years. He then moved on to become part-owner of Pottstown C.D.E., Inc., and remained there until his retirement in 2005. Outside of work, Tom was the treasurer, commissioner, and coach for the Boyertown Midget Baseball League, and also assisted with the Boyertown Optimist Mites Football. He enjoyed crafting and traveling to Stone Harbor, NJ, with his family.
Tom is lovingly remembered by his son, Brian (& Linda) Heimbach; his daughter, Cynthia Heimbach; his grandsons, Corey (& Sarah) Heimbach and Eric (& Charity) Heimbach; and his great-grandchildren, Gabriel Heimbach, Colton Heimbach, and Veda Ly Heimbach.
Along with his wife and parents, Tom is predeceased by his infant daughter, Sandra Larue Heimbach; and his sister, Nancy DePrefontaine.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park, 701 Farmington Ave., Pottstown, PA 19464.
