Donald Wheatley Cook, 89, went home to his Lord on June 2, 2022. Born in East Nantmeal Twp., Chester County, he was the son of the late Horace Murray Cook and Lola Pearl (Wheatley) Cook.
As a toddler, he won 2nd place in the baby contest run by the local paper. He graduated from Pottstown High School in 1951, and then was stationed in Korea as a corporal in the United States Army from April 8, 1953 – April 8, 1955. He then became a long-term employee of Bethlehem Steel before moving to Dana Inc. Outside of work, Donald was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Frontier Archery Club. Mr. Cook was an avid and devoted hunter with his rifle and bow, and won many trophies during his life.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara J. (Kulp) Cook; his daughter, Robin L. (& Mark) Kutsch; his stepdaughter, Andrea P. (& James) Kulp-Kessler; his son, Donald W. (& Holly) Cook Jr.; his five grandchildren, including Donald W. Cook III, born on his birthday; his 15 great-grandchildren, including Donald W. Cook IV; and his sister, Esther J. Davis.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his daughter, Chantal Cheryl Cook; and his sister, Jeanne Marie Cook.
A viewing will take place on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Sassamansville, 1809 Hoffmansville Rd., Sassamansville, PA 19472. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place after the service at the church cemetery.
