Salvatore “Sam” Saporito, 98, of Uwchlan Twp., PA, passed away on June 19, 2021. He was the husband of the late Girolama “Mae” (Cavataio) Saporito, who passed on May 7, 2020.
Born in Pittston, PA, on April 15, 1923, Salvatore was the son of the late Raymond and Rose (Randazzo) Saporito.
Sam graduated from West Wyoming High School in 1941, and then began his service in the US Marine Corps and Army. After marrying his loving wife Mae in 1949, they moved to Venezuela where Sam worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron Company. He worked in the petrochemical industry for many years; this afforded him the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the Americas with his family. Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to a farm in Exton, PA, where they were later joined by their daughter.
Sam is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Rose Marie Saporito, Exton, PA; his sister, Victoria Saporito; and his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on July 23, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, PA 18643. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place after the service at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 612 Mount Olivet Rd., Wyoming, PA 18644. A luncheon will follow the inurnment, details to be announced.
Services are being held in remembrance of both Sam and Mae Saporito.
