Joyce Gertrude (Knepp) Renninger, 81, of Douglassville, PA, was called home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2021, at Wyomissing Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was the wife of LaRay Eugene Renninger, who she loved and adored for 61 years of marriage.
Born in Bear Gap, PA, on October 16, 1939, Joyce was the daughter of the late Walter Henry Knepp and Martha Mae (Dobson) Knepp.
Over the years Joyce worked in a sewing factory, sold Avon, and even had a cake-decorating business, “Joyce’s Cakes.” She enjoyed creating things with her hands, including sewing, painting, flower arranging, crocheting, cooking, and baking. Joyce loved traveling to the shore, and especially when her family joined her. Family meant the world to Joyce. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Renninger is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Vickie D. App, wife of David, Boyertown, PA, Lisa L. Malizzi, wife of Mark, Douglassville, PA, Linda M. Beekley, wife of Gary, Pottstown, PA, and Janet L. Wetzel, wife of Jeffrey, Douglassville, PA; her grandchildren, Timothy Gephart, Angel Murphy, Elizabeth Skokowski, Darlene Tillman, Jessica Malizzi, Gary Beekley, Zachary Beekley, Hannah Wetzel, Grace Wetzel, and Jeffrey Wetzel; her great-grandchildren, Janelle Tillman, Joe Joe Skokowski, Paul Skokowski, Travis Tillman, Paisley Tillman, and Kane Caputo; and her sisters, Shirley Boonie, Patsy Lash, Margie Wagner, and Karen Hartsocks.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Connie Huffman; and her brother, Oscar Knepp.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Cemetery, 225 E. Schuylkill Rd., Pottstown, PA 19465.
